This week at the Community Center!

August 17 – 23, 2019

I’m back! I had a lovely vacation, and it’s exceedingly nice to be home in Marlboro again. How’s the pond been?

The library is open for self-service and browsing whenever the Community Center is open, and also 9 – 11am on Tuesdays through the summer.

Saturday we’ll be open with coffee, cheese scones, warm chocolate chip cookies, and other delicious baked treats from 9am to noon.

The Summer Reading Program is on Tuesday from 9 -11am. Story time is at 9:20am. Craft projects and snacks are provided. Children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult. Come for the whole two hours or just part of it and get some new books for the week. The library will also be open at that time so anybody else who isn’t a kid can get out a book as well! This is the last week that the reading program will be running this year.

Also on Tuesday, the weekly Spanish conversation group will meet from 1 – 2pm and Strong Living at 4pm. This is also the last week of the Spanish group.

We’ll be open 10am – 5pm on Wednesday. The knitting, rughooking, and other fiber-arts group meets 2 – 4pm and Marlboro Cares has its monthly meeting at 5pm. We have an exciting one-off class at 6.30pm. Join Cheyenne for ‘Finding Your Voice: Write for Social Media With Ease’! Cheyenne is a local writer and editor who has designed this class to work in conjunction wth our recent course ‘Social Success on Facebook and Instagram’ with Melissa. Suggested donation of $15, pre-registration is recommended but not required. For questions or to save a spot please email

Thursday we’ll be open 10 – 2pm.  Strong Living meets at 4pm, and Tai Ji is back at 5pm. At 6.30pm, Marlboro College President, Kevin Quigley will be holding a Q&A session regarding the proposed merger of Marlboro College with the University of Bridgeport. All community members and Marlboro Alumni are welcome to attend.

Friday we’re open 10 – 2pm.

The Center is available for use by groups, or for private events. Please email us for more information or pop in for a chat during our open hours.
